January 23-2020- Winter Work

Well as you can see from my previous post last season was a bit frustrating with clutch issues and just struggling to get back to where I was the previous season. I decided to try out the New Next Gen Clutch from Black Magic Clutches. Talked with Cale about the car and and he and Tinzy put together a beautiful piece.

The Pressure plate weighs 11.8 lbs

Flywheel is 12.2 lbs

This is all installed and just need to wait for the track to open and I will be there.

On the Transmission side, I had GForce freshen up my G101a transmission where they disassemble it, inspect and magnaflux the internals and Paul had it back to my door in a week. Great service and super helpful folks!

I have had the G101a for just over 3 seasons and it has taken a beating. After the first season I sent it back to be looked at and it was in near perfect condition. This time I decided to wait 2 seasons before sending it back. Overall it was in very good condition given a few hundred passes with the exception of a slight fracture on the 2nd gear and the 3rd gear dogring was a little chewed on the edges. Since my initial purchase of the transmission they now have an upgraded 2nd gear that is wider (see gear on right) and also a dogring that has much more meat (left side of pic) so I had those upgraded.

On the Shock side, I have had the Viking Shocks for about 4 seasons and they have worked well. I figured it was time to have them put on the shock dyno at Viking and tested. The end result was they did need to be rebuilt, and Viking also had some improved internals since mine were manufactured and they rebuilt both the front and rear with the newer stuff. Customer service was great and they had the shocks back to me within 2 weeks looking like new.

Front- Viking Crusader Coil Overs with DA shocks-A333AP Previously I was running a 10" spring with a 350lbs rate given how nose heavy the car is, but given the past few seasons it appeared the car would be better with a 11" 250lb spring given where the shock settings were with C/R and q good amount of adjustment range left to control the extension. The new springs weigh almost exactly what the older springs weighted.

Rear - Viking Crusader DA shocks-B318AM

All that is left now is to get it to stick it back on the scales to adjust the coil overas and set ride height before the fun begins.
